Everyone likes eating gourmet meals because, well, they're yummy and they look amazing. When we aspire to cook like that, it's not even close because guess what, we're not chefs.
Most of us don't even have a reason to plate our food all fancy, let alone have all that experience. But the biggest reason our meals may be short of spectacular is that we don't have enough time right? Well sure, but I think there is another element at play here.
I think the one thing that keeps us from becoming star chefs at home is, passion.
That's right, I'm saying that if you can find the passion, you will have all you need to become better in the kitchen. It really is that simple. Chefs make better meals because they put more work and effort into it.
Passion is a powerful thing. It leads to dedication, exploration, and determination. When you are passionate about something, you make time for it. It's higher on your priority list. You accept the territory that comes with it. And you do it.
Without it, you won't make time; you'll make excuses.
With enough passion in cooking, no matter what your level, you will put in the effort to learn and improve. You will strive to become better everyday and you will practice until you have the results to show for it.
We all put hours of hard work into exercising our bodies. The same has to happen in the kitchen if you really want to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
You have to care about cooking and want to eat quality tasting meals. You want to do the best thing for your body, now and for the future.
I tried fitness diets but couldn't last more than a week. You know, the things Hugh Jackman ate when preparing for his Wolverine movie roles. The food was tasteless and sad.
You realize you will only see food as "fuel" for your mechanical body. Nothing more.
Well I needed more. I wanted to make meals that played with gastronomic techniques. Meals that would surprise people who never expected such meals to also be nutritious.
If you can't find some enjoyment in the cooking process, it will always seem like a chore. The amount of effort you put in will dictate what you get out of it.
I found my passion because eating is one of the great joys in life and we take it for granted. I want to help others find their passion in cooking too. That starts with knowing how to cook. That's why I compiled professional chef tips and techniques ebook that helps fitness-minded individuals take their cooking skills to the next level.
This passion is what I implore you to find because if you don't, you'll see cooking as a chore instead of an opportunity.
